ABOUT
Guatemala Will Always Be My First Home
The story behind Guatemala, Personally
I left Guatemala nine years ago, but a part of me never really left.
My family is still there. So are so many of my memories, the places that shaped me, and the little things that make Guatemala feel like nowhere else in the world.
I miss the warmth of its people. The way family and friends come together. The food, the beautiful weather, the colors, the traditions, and the familiar feeling of being in my first home.
Guatemala isn't simply a destination I know. It's a place I carry with me.
Where My Love of Helping Travelers Began
Years ago, while working as a concierge at Marriott Guatemala, I discovered something I genuinely loved: helping visitors experience my country.
It wasn't just about recommending a restaurant or suggesting somewhere to visit. I loved learning what interested each traveler and helping them discover places and experiences that felt right for them.
Sometimes, the smallest recommendation could become someone's favorite memory.
That experience stayed with me.
A Life Connected to Travel
For more than 14 years, I've also worked as a flight attendant, meeting people from around the world and experiencing travel from a different perspective.
Over the years, I've learned that every traveler is different. Some want adventure. Others seek culture, relaxation, meaningful connections, or simply the confidence of knowing where to begin.
And sometimes, a little thoughtful guidance can make all the difference.
Why Guatemala, Personally?
Living away from Guatemala has only deepened my appreciation for everything that makes it special.
When I think about my first home, I don't just picture Antigua's colorful streets, Lake Atitlán's volcanoes, or the beauty of its landscapes.
I think about the people. The conversations. The food shared around a table. The traditions. The warmth that can turn an ordinary moment into a lasting memory.
That's what inspired me to create Guatemala, Personally.
I wanted to bring together my love for my country, my experience helping travelers, and the personal perspective that comes from knowing Guatemala not just as a place to visit, but as my first home.
My hope is that when you travel to Guatemala, you experience more than its beautiful destinations.
I hope you discover a little of the warmth, character, and connection that make me love it so much.
And perhaps, somewhere along the way, you'll find your own reasons to fall in love with Guatemala, too.
Welcome to Guatemala, Personally.
